Posterior transverse scan of the elbow

The patient sits with the arm in the crab position. The probe is placed transversely over the tip of the olecranon. The probe is moved proximally, visualising the triceps insertion on the olecranon.
Skin, subcutaneous fat, triceps tendon and musculature, olecranon fossa fat pad and trochlea of the humerus are visualised. The probe moves proximally to assess the olecranon fossa.
