Dorsal longitudinal scan of MCP joint

The patient sits, hand pronated, arm supported. The probe is placed longitudinally on the dorsum of the metacarpophalangeal joint. The probe is now moved distally to identify the joint. Extensor tendon, metacarpal head and base of proximal phalynx are clearly visualised.
