Palmar longitudinal scan of MCP joint

Watch the video

The patient sits, hand supinated, arm supported. The probe is placed longitudinally on the palmar surface of the metacarpophalangeal joint. The second flexor tendon, metacarpal head covered with hypoechoic cartilage and the base of proximal phalynx are clearly visualised.

Apologies: It has been brought to our attention that the audio soundtrack to this clip refers incorrectly to the base of the middle phalynx, rather than the base of the proximal phalynx. We are taking steps to correct this as soon as possible.
