Anterior transverse scan of the shoulder in maximal internal rotation

The patient sits and the shoulder is internally rotated placing the hand over the lumbar spine. The probe is placed transversely over the anterior aspect of the shoulder. Skin, subcutaneous fat, deltoid muscle, subdeltoid bursa and supraspinatus tendon in cross-section over humerus are visualised.
The probe is moved medially and the rotator cuff, glenohumeral joint and coracoid process are visualised.
