The patient sits, shoulder adducted, arm resting by side. The probe is placed transversely just beneath the spine of the scapula.
The skin, subcutaneous fat, deltoid muscle, infraspinatus muscle and tendon, glenoid labrum, glenoid and humerus are identified.
